PIXIE'S ASTOUNDING LENORMAND REVIEW

Pixie’s Astounding Lenormand was made by Edmund Zebrowski, who also made the Day of the Dead Lenormand. Edmund's work is quality across the board. I love his creativity and artistic visions! It feels like he sees opportunity where many others don't think to look. He is currently working on the Lenormand de Marseille.
Pixie's Astounding Lenormand is currently on its third printing in its mass market form. I previously owned the second edition, but passed it forward a few years ago and later came to regret my decision. It was so good! I was just too concerned with how precious it was to feel safe while using it daily. A mass-market edition takes the fear away from me for good.
The conception of this idea was in my opinion very brilliant. It filled in a huge gap that was missing. Once it was out, I noticed that the system was so cohesive that it had brought new life to Pamela Coleman Smith’s illustrations. It’s a gorgeous deck of cards! The packaging of the tin and the thoughtful wrap with a blue P (for Pixie) seal are really stunning. I gasped when I took it out of its light blue tissue paper because it is such thoughtful presentation. It got me very excited to use the deck. The quality of the card stock is very good and thin. They fan out nicely and they have lovely card backs. A great new design choice!

Reading with the cards is great. They have a very straightforward quality of reading that is a necessity to read the Lenormand. They’re very terse and to the point, also. They read exactly as a Lenormand should and will provide great accompaniment to a tarot deck. I like that if you spend time with them, you can find out exactly what they mean to say and you can weave a thoughtful story for yourself.
The card illustrations themselves really impressed me. I love that they are so cohesive in style, and while they are familiar, they also pack great surprises. Some of the more creative decisions made sense to me and even made me smile. The card stock is very sturdy and will hold through just fine when used. It comes very thoughtful booklet, this one is autographed by the artist. Usually I tend to side step the booklets that come with decks, but this one has a lot of useful information. You can apply all of the cards to romance and finance, as well as whether they are positive, negative or neutral. Lastly, you get time suggestion and sources for the art.
Using this deck has an element of nostalgia because of the style. It makes me feel as if I’ve gone back in time to enjoy a delightful summer vacation, spending time reading cards. The evocative quality of this deck makes it very pleasant to use and helpful in grounding yourself for a reading. Simply thumb through the cards and enjoy the grounding experience. These cards take me to a very pleasant place where it's always Saturday morning and an adventure is not too far. I can hear waves crashing in the distance, and gentle blowing of the wind.

When I compare color schemes, I feel like Pixie’s Astounding Lenormand fits best with the Centennial Edition of the Rider-Waite Smith. I personally enjoy the colors of the Original Rider-Waite Smith Tarot with the checkered cerulean backs. That is the version I most prefer for use side to side with this Lenormand deck.
The truth is that you don’t need a tarot deck to deliver strong readings, and this deck will prove that effortlessly. The Lenormand is a robust system that can provide hours of reading time as you work your way across a complete Grand Tableu spread. Even the Square of Nine spread is going to provide you with more than 15 minutes reading time once you get past the obvious connections and into the deeper messages contained in the spread.

♡ What is your most important characteristic?
The Cross. Starting with a heavy hitter! It is important for people using this deck to understand that it is not a tarot deck, and all of the myths surrounding card reading should be put to rest. Instead, approach this deck with a clean slate upon which to build new experiences if you are not yet familiar with the Lenormand. See this as a new starting point in your experience as a reader. End of the comfort zone.
♡ What are your strengths as a Lenormand deck?
The Moon. There is beauty contained in these cards. A shroud of mystery goes away as you look into the tableau and work your way through the magic of the cards. Get creative with how you approach the cards, enjoy the mystique of the experience. That same mystifying quality is what will attract people to your reading table. They won’t be able to resist their curiosity!
♡ What are your limits?
The Lady. Limits, if any, will be imposed by yourself. You are free to do as you like with these cards. There are possibilities without limits. You are to become your biggest enabler and best representation.
♡ What are you here to teach me?
The Fox. These cards will help you quicken your wits and provide easy identification of the aspects in the readings that work agains the querent. Using these cards you will have a great understanding in picking out what does not work.
♡ How can I best learn to collaborate with you?
The Child. Approach the deck with a fresh mind, as if you were taking your first steps in the journey of cartomancy. Look to re-learn what you already know and enjoy the experience as one that will help you grow and mature. Enjoy the process.
♡ What is the potential outcome of our working relationship?
The Key. Keys open doors to opportunity. This deck can be an assertive tool to find out the truth. Keys stand for unlocking hidden wisdom and secrets. This can be interpreted as a tool to unlock secrets about your life and that of the people you read for.
♡ Which card do you want to show off?
The Dog. The overall mood of this deck is friendly and non-threatening. There is no nudity or offensive content. You can spread the cards out over any reading space and delight your querent with this pleasantly universal deck. Using these cards will help you bond with your future querents.
♡ How do you see me?
The Fish. I see in you an independent person who works arduously in the craft of fortune telling. You wish to sustain yourself with your efforts in card reading and you work very hard to make connections with those who respect your work.
♡ How do you see yourself?
The Mice. I do not wish to be used for the wrong intentions. I do not wish to feed the ego, I wish to be used in a constructive way. I want to have people identify key issues in their life to help them feel empowered. If anybody feels like something is being taken away from them, I am there to expose the situation and bring them clarity.

I loved the general reinforcement of these cards providing you with a reliable source of information. This is a really great deck! If you wish to get your own special edition copy, please visit Delphi’s Chamber. I'm getting myself another copy too!

EXPLAINING THE GRAND TABLEAU

Spring is running wild and I am trying my best to enjoy the sunny blessings. Today we will cover the Lenormand’s most advanced game, the Grand Tableau. While I have identified with the German tradition more so than the French, but you can expect a bit of an eclectic mix of the traditions as we squeeze the juice out of this tableau. This is a completely different dynamic to that of the tarot, which has been our main focus. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy sharing it.
As I lay out the cards over the luscious reading cloth, I pay close attention to the houses versus the cards that land on them. This time around I had my first match, card # 18 Dog landed over the house of the Dog card. It is a friendship card, making me feel as though my friendships are reconciled and stable. I like to refer to each house lying under the card because it tells me a little bit about where I am at that point in time. Most of the times I checked, the results were quite beautiful. On the house of the Heart, the Moon card was drawn and I thought of the word “soulmates.” It made me smile. There are several other connections that made sense, like the Cross over the Lilies as Death. The position of the Cross card made me weary of the message, though, obviously. For the most part this is a very positive spread.
THE FIRST FOUR:
I usually start out by reading the first four cards to find out a little more about the spread. Then I look at the four corners also for a little more information.
Tree + Mice + Lady + Fish = A girl (me) needs to take care of her health if she wants to be fit for her line of work. When I check the houses under each card, I trace connections between them.
Tree + Rider = Family news. I had a call from my sister recently, whom I have not heard from in months.
Clover + Mice = Luck is not as it has been in previous months. Don’t take risks.
Lady + Ship = A voyage lies ahead, a new adventure. Change is in the air.
Fish + House = Finances are stable.
This Grand Tableau is talking about the circumstances around me as I prepare to make anew journey to improve my experience in my career.
THE FOUR CORNERS:
Now that the general theme of the Grand Tableau has been established, we move to the four corners of the tableau to find out a little more information.
Tree + Snake + Ship + Man = There is a man in the family making a trip soon. I will leave it at that for now.
If we use the houses here, we get the following interpretations:
Tree + Rider = News about the family.
Snake + Coffin = Unpleasant end to something.
Ship + Ring = Contract is fulfilled.
Man + Moon = Resting.
Moving on…

FATE CARDS:
There is an extra line of four at the bottom that can provide information about things we can’t change. Since I had some space in the spread cloth and Ciro Marchetti provides extra cards, — all of which I keep in my deck for my readings. It works for me even though it isn’t at all traditional! — I placed the extra cards to either side of the tableau. I use meanings from Mary K. Greer’s own interpretation to aid the reading. More on that later.
In the line of fate, I have Whip + Lilies + Child + Mask. This means that issues from childhood could be playing a role in the direction of the events, or that there is an underlying influence from childhood memories or past experience that is key to understanding this tableau. Now for the houses.
Whip + Key = A difficult chance.
Lilies + Fish = Spiritual work.
Child + Anchor = From a young age, lasting a long time.
Mask + Cross = Unable to show true identity. Taking off a mask.
This means: After hiding a gift for a long time, I have taken off the mask and made it my main source of income. I work in the spiritual field.
Whew.
MARY GREER'S EXTRA CARDS:
Mary K. Greer devised her own interpretation of the four extra cards in Ciro Marchetti's Gilded Reverie Lenormand. She meant it for use of the special cards outside the tableau, but I mixed them all together so I am counting the cards that landed on the positions.
1st: what's most important (for instance, Mask could suggest that the 'masked' Houses are extra important).
Key = Finding solutions. Unlocking doors to opportunity.
2nd: an obstacle - something that could get in the way of a clear interpretation or resolution.
Woman = There is someone standing in my way of progress.
3rd: hidden wisdom, a teaching.
Path = Can go both ways depending on how ready we are to make a decision. Will make us choose one path or the other.
4th: moving on (Time indicates patience: it will take time before things will be resolved; Mask would say something significant in the future is still unknown; Dice - take a random chance; Bridge - Yes, now's the time to move on).
Dice = Take a gamble on luck and time. We don't have control, it happens by chance.

FIND YOURSELF:
The first part is over. Now you know what this is all about, so it’s time to interpret the rest of the Grand Tableau. This is where it starts to get a little more complicated.
Identify your signifier and then try reading the 8 cards around it. It presents a scene to you. Mine was very easy to spot because it shows up at the very start of the reading. Unfortunately there are no more cards over the signifier, which means that I will have no look into the thoughts of the signifier. Since this is a demo, that is an interesting observation. This is not so much about thinking, it is more about what will happen. For more reference, we can read the line that strings down as well.
Lady + Bear + Birds + Rider + Whip = There is talk going on about work and family matters. Both at once, quite loud and quite out of control.
STEALING THE SCENE:
Now to read the cards around my signifier. I do so clockwise.
Lady + Fish + Heart + Bear + House + Mice = I focus on a line of work that involves helping others. It is a big company and it is stable, but it does sap me of my energy more than I would like to admit.
I found the signifier for my significant other at the very end of the tableau, and took the liberty to read his spread of 9:
Man + Letter + Moon + Man + Dice + Road (Path) + Mask + Cross + Mountain = At work, he is considering writing an important document to end his journey if a misfortune cannot be rectified. He is taking a gamble, to speak is to condemn himself and to stay quiet is to accept torture. The mask is the person involved, and quite interesting because I could see that person having two faces. He hopes for the best.
This speaks of two situations, actually. Interesting how they could converge.

KNIGHTING:
Once we know what is going around the signifiers, we can use the famous knighting technique to find out a little more about them.
Lady + Fish + Heart + Anchor = I love my line of work and will continue to do it for a long time. It makes me happy. We could also add the houses to the interpretation.
Ship + House + Birds + Park = Moving, but continuing the line of work in person. And each card can be combined with the corresponding house for more information.
Lady + Ship = Moving.
Fish + House = Working from home.
Heart + Birds = Gossip about love. Talking to a lover.
Park + Anchor = Staying in the community.
LOOKING AHEAD, LOOKING BACK:
I string together the cards before the signifier, and those reaching back.
Ahead: Lady + Fish + Clover + Bridge + Tower + Snake = Be careful, mind your luck as you make your way to your new job. The job you thought you wanted could turn out not to be the one you thought you needed. Adding the houses, we get the following:
Lady + Ship = Moving.
Fish + House = Work from home.
Clover + Tree = Delicate health. Family issue.
Bridge + Clouds = Heaven. Not knowing.
Tower + Snake = Dishonest work place.
Snake + Coffin = Unfortunate event. Unfair end.
I see some overlap now. As you find you near the end of the tableau, the messages will continue to overlap until you can find no more new information.
Back: Mice + Tree = Family problem. A loss in the family from before could once more manifest or be talked about.
Mice + Clover = Less luck.
Tree + Rider = Family news.
See? More overlap.

GRAND FINALE:
This is my favorite part. I tend to trace connections amongst signifiers, or find stories that are not directly a part of the tableau, but somehow influence it. I trace diagonal lines.
Bouquet + House + Lady + Heart + Coffin + Cross + Path + Man = After a beautiful start of a relationship, there is a tie being cut to a man of the family.
Since there was only one house corresponded with the card, I decided to draw a line over the Dog’s house. Yikes, maybe I shouldn’t have read that.
This is the end for now. There are many things you can try to really squeeze the meaning out of a reading. I recommend that you try it out and enjoy the process! I hope you will share your progress with me in the comments section or write to me with your own blog entry about how you have performed this reading. I love reading about how others go about their readings.

THE MYSTICAL WORLD OF CIRO MARCHETTI

Ciro Marchetti is a graphic designer and illustrator devoted to painting a pretty picture that will jump start your imagination. He has found his niche in the divine and fantastic, trying to add in some elements of reality for credibility and personal resonance. His work speaks for itself with the immensity of its success. I don't doubt you have seen it displayed in the Gilded Tarot, the Legacy of the Divine Tarot, the Tarot of Dreams, the Oracle of Visions, and the Gilded Reverie Lenormand. What a line of work! I have collected them all. While his decks have been released in limited editions for collectors and fans, many of his works are available through Llewellyn for those on a budget. If you missed out on his print runs of Legacy of the Divine, you can still find the mass market one on shelves and on the internet. It's a great place to start!
I asked him a long time ago which of his own decks he prefers to read with. He said: Monica Laura, I don't read.... with any.... But if you want to know my favorite, its the Gilded, because that's how it all started, but on the other hand the Tarot of Dreams because that represented a more personal take on tarot imagery, then of course its should be the Legacy of the Divine because that was a platform to provide Tarot with a mythological context and rational for its origins and continued existence. But then again I have a soft spot for the Oracle of Visions because then I could do my own thing without having to worry about pre-existing traditions, rules and structure. But now, how can I not like the the Gilded Royale which allowed me to go back to the beginning and do it over again and hopefully better. So my favorite??? hmmm, let me think, I'll get back to you... — Ciro Marchetti
We just received word that a great visionary in the world of tarot and metaphysics has decided to retire his tarot artistry to pursue some new ventures. His Gilded Reverie is in the final print run and will go out of print once it is sold out. However, it is now available as an application for your iPhone or iPad. That's exciting! You can purchase it here. (this is not a paid advertisement!)

THE GILDED REVERIE LENORMAND:
The last installment to Ciro Marchetti's series of greatness is a 36 card deck known as a Lenormand. It's a combination of oracular cartomancy to bring you simple (or elaborate and intricate) readings. You can choose the spread that works best for your needs. The simplest spreads for the Lenormand are in pairs of two. I prefer pairs over just one card, since the one card is literally like a word in the sentence. You ask a question and your answer will be quite brief. With two complimenting or opposing cards, you can find a direction to go in or to avoid. It gives you a little more to work with, depending on your needs.
The point of learning the Lenormand — at least from what I have seen, — is to work with the Grand Tableau. It is an elaborate spread that contains all of the 36 cards of the deck. If your deck has extra cards, you could delight in adding them to bring a little extra magic to your readings. Ciro's creations are nice and can prove to be quite useful, but if you prefer the traditional 36 and nothing more, that's fine too.
There is so much versatility in this way and that. The leeway is due to the fact that the cards are quite versatile, and as he designed this deck, he thought to add two signifier cards for men and women. That's a lot of consideration for modern-day needs. Every reader can choose a traditional school or none at all. Throughout the years of Lenormand card study, I have seen others combine the school and add their own personal touch for readings that prove both riveting and enlightening. The point is to experiment until you find the method that is right for you.
The most appealing aspect of the Gilded Reverie Lenormand is the way that it was rendered. It comes with Ciro Marchetti's signature style: vivid colors, minuscule details complimented with fine lighting. It has fantastical elements mixed in with reality. It's just a new way to look at Ciro's artwork. He chose not to depict a simple tree or a plain coffin even though many insisted that is how Lenormand works. He said there would be no point in making a Lenormand if he couldn't add some of his own ideas to the plethora that already exists, and while many argued about it, I think the end result is quite beautiful. All he had to do was shut out people's contradictory opinions and focus instead on the masterpiece he was making.
It is worth noting that I followed the progress of the Gilded Reverie ever since it was in the beginner stages. I participated in the dialogue every time he posted a round of three options to choose from. He always mixed and matched, and listened to what people had to say about his work. A lot of times there were heated conversations amongst admirers. They are very aware of what works and what doesn't according to them in a Lenormand deck and were more than willing to share the wealth of their knowledge. I think Ciro's style was cut out for the Lenormand all along. It takes a system that is simple and that works and adds a little modern beauty to it. That is exactly what we needed. My biggest contribution to the deck was in recommendations for the number placement / look!

DECK INTERVIEW:

♡ What is your most important characteristic?
Tower. A big business or established project. It's hard for a tower to expand, so it does have its boundaries or its restrictions. This shows the culmination of a project, as the cherry on top. It popped up unexpectedly but took the world of cards by storm.
♡ What are your strengths as a tarot deck?
Birds. How chatty! Birds are a conversation established. It can be fast paced and excited, maybe a little jittery and nervous. It could be gossip or it could also be chatting through social networks. A common interpretation could be text messages or Twitter, depending on what it is combined with.
♡ What are your limits?
Letter. Letters can be ornate but they can also be quite simple. It stresses the fact that it delivers a message, but the message needs somebody to deliver it. This card is very literally a piece of paper that has a message, but if combined with the book card can be a diary or a secret that is being delivered. Like a letter, it is a very intimate dialogue.

♡ What are you here to teach me?
Fish. Capitalize! The fish are a great signifier for work. This is my line of work, — and I love it! —It is a big investment for a means of finance, but it looks like once the technique is mastered, it can be used as a powerful tool.
♡ How can I best learn to collaborate with you?
Stars. Quite literally drawing connections and networking. This card stands for lucidity, psychic development, wishes, metaphysics, astrology, and the zodiac. Stars are seen as hope in the tarot and light, it could also be literally a night sky or stars.
♡ What is the potential outcome of our working relationship?
Book. Secret for now. Books are content written, and I feel that it could mean to journal about the development of the relationship. It can also represent school or higher education, which is a very personal approach of mine towards the tarot and oracles surrounding it. The Lenormand is another school of divination; one I am very comfortable with and learning with speed. Write a book about it, publish something! Yes sir!

♡ Which card do you want to show off?
Dog. A loyal friend. This card is heart-warming. I would not say it is the most beautiful one, but I can admit that it is sweet. It can be a faithful person or quite literally a pet. I take this to be a good sign that I can work with this deck and that we will get along just fine... unlike a certain deck I interviewed not too long ago.
♡ How do you see me?
Sun. Success! So much light and warmth that comes from the sun. When you enjoy what you do, it really shows in yourself and in the others you contaminate with your joy. It is the brilliance of light as it stretches through the sky, through a place. It looks like a great card to signify, even though I like to stick to the Moon.
♡ How do you see yourself?
Clock. This is one of Ciro Marchetti's personal contributions to the Lenormand. It's quite kooky, but it is a vessel that chimes at a certain time. It could just be a measure of progress and how long it takes, but it could also note a vivid alarm or wake-up call.

I really enjoy reading with these cards. They're so big that you can appreciate the luscious images in detail, plus they have 4 new cards that aren't available anywhere else, as they are of Ciro's creation — he humorously mentioned he thought that we would use them as coasters. I do recommend reading them with the spread cloth featuring the corresponding houses of the Grand Tableau. It is an old system, but one that works and doesn't need much changing... unless of course, we decide to add the 4 extra cards on either side of the destiny line at the bottom. Mary K. Greer was telling us in Lenormand Cards Study that she uses the 4 extra cards in the following way:
I just created a new way to use the four extra cards. An old cartomancy tradition calls for a set of "wish cards" that are read separately (usually 3). I decided to shuffle the four cards and lay them in a line. Their position tells us something about the whole spread. From left to right:
☆ 1st: what's most important? (for instance, Mask could suggest that the 'masked' Houses are extra important).
☆ 2nd: an obstacle - something that could get in the way of a clear interpretation or resolution.
☆ 3rd: hidden wisdom, a teaching.
☆ 4th: moving on (Time indicates patience: it will take time before things will be resolved; Mask would say something significant in the future is still unknown; Dice - take a random chance; Bridge - Yes, now's the time to move on).

So much beauty! Would you like me to explain how I read the Lenormand in a GT? I'd love to share.

LENORMAND REVOLUTION REVIEW

The first time I laid eyes on the Lenormand Revolution deck, I knew that it would become a favorite right away. There is something romantic and melancholic about it. It could be winter's frost creeping up on me all the way to the tropics, or simply the fact that I love the French court. Whatever the case, as soon as I learned it went into print, I swooped in and got my copy. Literally minutes later, the deck had been sold out. I congratulated myself on a job well done because I knew that I could not live without this deck of cards. That same day I started seeing photos of people that had already received their decks and were publishing them in the Lenormand Cards Study Group. They had found that the tins this deck is housed in have just about enough space for gemstones and other things, and soon they were sharing their concoctions with the community. Once mine arrived, I could join the party too. I posted about it as an old friend that I greeted with airs of melancholy, and I quickly connected with various others that shared the same love for this deck that I do.

This limited edition Lenormand Revolution deck alludes to 18th century European and New World unrest, touching on the culmination of these turbulent times: the American and French Revolutions. With a nod to Mademoiselle Lenormand herself, each card features a French title with an English translation. The deck’s breathtaking images follow the traditional feel and clarity of the The Game of Hope, after which le petit jeu de Lenormand is said to have been originally fashioned. — Carrie Paris
I look at the cards and I see an era that I would have loved to dream in. The French court of the 1700s fascinates me -- especially that of Marie Antoinette. The Rococó for vanity, masquerades and frilly romance are for me staples of a wonderful era, even if others disagree. Even the cold hands of death and execution as carried out back then don't really bother me. Think about it, though. Swords were swung to behead a King or Queen, and if you were less than that it would be the gallows or a knife. Yikes! Definitely not a glamorous way to go, but I digress... Consider also the positive aspect of being in the French court around the 1700s, my legs feel like jelly! It would have been an absolute dream... minus the accepted standards for execution.
The card stock will stand up to years of loving use and abuse, but I just recently bought myself a second copy in the case that I could damage or misplace the copy that I use. I couldn't bear resolving to the application that is coming out and not really having the physical copy. To me, shuffling the cards myself and bonding with them is what helps me connect in a reading. I keep Marco the rose quartz bunny in the tin along with bottled essential oil, amethyst and lapis lazuli. The cards smell like my idea of a dream and they are nicely paired with my favorite dark nail polishes for some extra zest in a reading. Unnecessary glitz and glam, but for me a vital part of enjoying the reading ritual a little more than usual.

All of these beautiful, passionate and dark sentiments are preserved through time in a series of cards that sing wildly to me. I use it lovingly in daily card draws of two or the whole deck in a Grand Tableau. The Lenormand Revolution deck is by far my favorite, and will be used as my main reading oracle to accompany the tarot.
INTERVIEW WITH THE LENORMAND REVOLUTION DECK:

♡ What is your most important characteristic?
La Maison / House. The base of a community is basically all the same. People live in houses. People in this community read with Lenormand. It is the tool of the trade. It can signify a literal house, the place of study and of work. I see it as something solid and stable; the system was established years ago and it still works today as is.
♡ What are your strengths as a tarot deck?
Le Soleil / Sun. Warmth, energy and vibrance. It is the symbol of Kings and Emperors, the symbol of power. I want to add also that I find it to be a dazzling deck.
♡ What are your limits?
La Clé / Key. Keys can lock or unlock things. Messages, secrets, doors. Whether you do one or the other is up to you... I choose to unlock secrets and to learn more about the Lenormand method.
♡ What are you here to teach me?
Le Monsieur / Gentleman. To read for male querents without the heavy adornment of the tarot. It is simple and fast forward in the case the need arises. Fancy that, he looks towards the Key and the Sun, even though the orientation of the cards have little to do with how Lenormand is read.
♡ How can I best learn to collaborate with you?
La Lettre / Letter. Quite literally by writing about it, blogging about it or keeping it for personal use. Writing to others to share the wealth seems like a good idea, since a letter could be an ice breaker for interesting dialogue
♡ What is the potential outcome of our working relationship?
L'Arbre / Tree. Fancy that! Trees have to do with health/growing and with family. Once rooted or grounded, I will be able to establish a solid perspective on how the Lenormand is read. I feel that it is here to stay, and will provide great strength.
♡ Which card do you want to show off?
Le Vaisseau / Ship. A modern-day masterpiece ready to take off into uncharted waters. The ship is the vessel that provides the journey, and I dare say that this one goes with style. Ship means travel, far off places and adventure.
♡ How do you see me?
La Lune / Moon. How lovely! Psychic gifts, dreams, intuition and work to do with those respective areas of study. It is my signifier in the tarot, but very different in the Lenormand because it takes out the darkness to the moon, or rather, what could be considered as a negative trait. Moon is about fame and networks.
♡ How do you see yourself?
Les Nuages / Clouds. Cloudy. Can be clear, can be murky depending on the side — or the traditional school — you take it from. It will be a seasonal tool for readings and as fleeting as a dream. I have always felt that Lenormand readings go by too fast, even the Grand Tableau after knighting and tracing all kinds of connections possible.

I read using the German school of tradition and will someday be incorporating the use of the corresponding houses. I like the House + Sun + Key + Gentleman + Letter + Tree + Ship + Moon + Clouds way of reading, which reads as 'A good tradition to keep on your psychic career development.' You see? All that fluff for one coherent sentence. Amazing!
In case you're wondering, it has playing card inserts. The courts are ghastly, peering out from mirrors in their corresponding suits... so if you use them, they're there! I especially like that some of the cards have blurred fragments that visually allude to time passing and memories. It is as cloudy as a distant memory, and I'm all over that! Carrie Paris &Roz Foster, you made the perfect deck for me! Any chance you'll make a tarot deck as well?

Want this deck? You're in luck! Today it went back on sale, but I don't expect it will be available for long. This post was not a paid advertisement. I genuinely love this deck.

HELLO WITCHES Nº33

Last week was interesting to say the least. I had some Starbucks, which proved to be terrible for my health. The anxiety attacks are back, last week I had three of them. I know I shouldn't ingest things with caffeine in them, but up until that day, the Pumpkin Spice Lattes had been friendly with me. I guess that even though I know it's not good for me, I should just regulate the times I drink coffee until. Next time I'll try it in the morning and in a low dose. I love it too much to give it up completely. There really was no overall theme to the week, just a week of 2nd Anniversary celebrations and quiet thinking. I'm sorry if any of my readers hoped to see a new review on Friday, I was too worn out to do a blog post.
Today I giving the Wild Unknown Tarot its debut. I got it a month ago but couldn't bring myself to work with it for some reason. I guess that I didn't connect with it as I had hoped to even though it's a really beautiful tarot. I get the feeling that it wasn't intended to be shamanic at all, but rather, a hipsterrific addition to the plethora of tarot cards. I do get a big Thothy feeling from this deck even if others do not. I will review it on Friday so I won't go in too much detail about how I feel about it. I have to say, though, that it's strange reading tarot cards without people in them.
I threw in a draw of the Lenormand Revolution because it's a deck that I particularly enjoy. I didn't really care that the themes of these cards are so disparate. I don't usually include Lenormand readings in my forecasts because it means I have to spend more time on my entries, but it's really worth the extra time. Originally I intended to use it for a Victorian Romantic weekly forecast, but here goes nothing.
This week has a heavy presence of Major Arcana and court cards, but there is a noticeble lack of Wands. The suit of Cups is almost out of the equation as well. When I pair Coins + Swords, I get the idea that the week will revolve around how I see my working status and how others see my working status. That Death card keeps following me around, too...
WEEKLY PROJECTIONS:

♡ Monday. Four of Coins. The Coins are wound up by different color threads, I see them spinning twisting. Sometimes it's hard to break out of routine when that's what you have going. My Mondays are routinely indeed. I write up a blog post, work and then go to dance classes. Maybe I don't even feel the thunder of going there anymore, but they keep me active and they help me get some exercise back in routine. I can't complain, just keep going.
♡ Tuesday. Seven of Swords. Foxes are clever and cunning, which makes them difficult to trust. Here you see a fox acting dormant, but with his eye focused on what is going on around him. There are six swords hanging overhead and one lying concealed under the fox. This is a new way to interpret the RWS meaning for the Seven of Swords, but says basically the same thing. Some people have hidden agendas or means that will bring harm. Not because they want to, but because their needs are more important than the needs of those around them. This means dealing with an unreliable person, or feeling like there is something being stolen from me. Time? Effort? Is someone hiding from me? Am I being watched from afar?
♡ Wednesday. The Emperor. The last time this card showed up, I needed to be draconian about something. Whenever I put my foot down and I let the Swords suit manifest in its entirety, people get scared. They don't really like it when I let my King of Swords out, swashbuckling his way out of a situation. Although I associate the Emperor with the suit of Wands, I have to note the card that follows this one. It looks like a pair of days to exercise that character that will force people to listen, even if it takes putting my foot down for the silence to start. I am not afraid to use my character if I have to.
On a side note, the tree reminds me of family. The lunar eclipse overhead foreshadows a threat to health is eminent. It's a good warning to pay attention to things going on with my relatives in terms of how they feel..

♡ Thursday. King of Swords. Don't you love the use of black & white paired with color accents? Just look at this fellow, he can't sleep at all at night because that's when his mind is most active. He's ready to hunt now that he is awake and hungry. As the staple of the symbol of knowledge, you can find this bird to have an able weapon to use when he likes. This card speaks to me about keeping your guard up and not being afraid to sing from A to Z if the situation merits it. Sometimes arguments are civil, other times they are explosive. What matters is that logic will help us discern which goes where.
♡ Friday. Ace of Coins. A repeat card on the same day! Fancy that. I wonder what will manifest this time? Last time it was a package in the mail, but it is known to be a gift as well. Maybe it's my turn to give a gift away... which would be quite nice.
♡ Saturday. King of Cups. There you are again! This time I feel it manifests as J, who I am planning on spending that day with. He has turned into the most affectionate guy I have been involved with in a long time. Sometimes he dreams and dreams, which I find to be naive but also very inspiring. The sight of a black swan is the sight of a person with a special talent that has not necessarily been embraced by society or the people around him. Swans are peaceful animals, to me they're the very staple of romance and chivalry.

♡ Sunday. The Hanged Man. More sleeping trouble? Watch the bat's red eyes as the night drags away and the light of day begins to grace the windows of those peacefully at rest. I often feel like my world goes up-side-down when I am trying to sleep for hours and it feels like the world around me is in slumber. It feels like mockery, and absolutely frustrates me. Bats are a symbol of death and rebirth, and a personal animal guide for me in 2012... which is winding down.
The traditional meaning of the Hanged Man is a sacrifice made willingly for the best.
♡ What to avoid. Death. I need to stop obsessing over death. I think about natural cycles all the time, particularly when my time will come and that of my loved ones. I loathe the idea of death because it takes my loved ones away and it keeps me fussing over time. Time is invisible, it really doesn't exist but it's one of the most valuable things that we uphold in modern-day society. I'm fed up with constantly being reminded about mortality in just about every aspect of my life. It has to stop!
♡ What to strive for. Ten of Coins. Financial stability and completion of a cycle. Watch the perfection in how those coins are arranged, and the vibrancy that they radiate in pairs. To me, my ultimate goal is to relocate and to enjoy a normal working life with my own personal lifestyle. I don't feel that I get the luxury to live out that lifestyle even though I can't complain about my fairy-tale castle surroundings. I'm very comfortable at home, but I should still strive to get where I want to go.

♡ Anchor + Mountain. Long term stability. No action. I can relate this to the last card of the reading, but Lenormand is simple and should be read as is.

I really, really love the Lenormand Revolution. It's so beautiful! Shame that it's currently out of print.
