Its been such a wonderful year! The term 'soul searching' doesn't even even to cover it. I've gone through some intense personal transformations, and came out the other side feeling like an entirely new person. This year definitely had some big deal events and experiences the likes of which I will never forget. There were also many hardships and obstacles, some of which have been very hard for me to digest and get used to. No one prepares us for loss.

I wish that some of the people left behind in 2015 will resurface at some point in the future, but for now the best thing to do is perhaps to let go and allow time to do its thing. I had so many fall outs this year that it felt unnatural.

Anyhow, I am really looking forward to getting 2016 started. My resolutions revolve around personal development and quality control in living habits. Less drinking, some home improvement and definitely nurturing my needs.

Special Event: I went to a super secret pre-listening dinner party with IAMX, Gary Numan and members of Nine Inch Nails. You can read about it here.

(A) IAMX pre-listening dinner party. This night was really amazing. I had a fireworks going on inside when I realized Gary Numan was also there. To top it off there were many more musicians there that I admire, such as Nine Inch Nails members. Rennholdër, someone I used to mad fangirl over. I talked to everybody and ate some great food listening to some great music in an epic castle house. Candles, magic and Chris Corner all around. With two hugs to conclude the night!

(B) Goth clubbing in Japan. Enough said! Magic on legs.

(C) Seeing Dave Gahan in concert with Soulsavers.

Tough! I think it was November.

I am looking to go to France, Prague, Japan, Louisiana (New Orleans), or Spain.

I love that I actually do make it to these places, even if it takes an extra year!

Oracle Alchemy. Ana Cortez is my favorite author. She has mentored me all throughout the year. I love reading anecdotes of moments spent with her father, who was a visionary and an enlightened man. Reading this book was a delightful look into her upbringing as a talented diviner.

I am really fond of the Playing Card Oracles system and looking to gain more experience with it. Hopefully my relationship with Ana Cortez will also continue to blossom. I am currently going through final examinations to earn my certification as a Playing Card Oracles reader.

Most of my dreams have come true. Very few are left in my list. I definitely want to get back into creative work of Illustration and Graphic Design. I want to go back to working on my tarot deck and illustration projects, and perhaps most importantly to keeping a sketchbook like I used to. It's so important for creatives to express themselves, and yet I've only chosen to do that through writing in the past few years. In reality it's because I've been trying to establish a routine that works for me, so those things I used to prioritize fell to the side. I thought about drawing almost every day, and could not see my life without color pencils and eraser shavings on my desk.

I am looking forward to getting back into nurturing my figure and my external appearance. While I got a lot done this year, I spent a lot of days working out of my pajamas with no make-up on. Definitely zoomed through my responsibilities, but felt like a servant girl while doing them. Even if I won't be dressing up every day, I will at least commit to take care of my image and to add new steps to my self-care routines.

Lastly, I want to commit to learning a new form of divination. This is a practice I do every year, but this year I've got no clue what to start with. It will be interesting to document that on my Youtube channel.

This year was really important in my life. I decided to move in on my own and I amazed myself with how much money I could make to sustain myself and become completely financially independent. I learned the importance of budgeting and saving up. I also learned how strong I am in the face of sudden changes, since I moved from one apartment to another almost singularly. It is very rewarding to feel like I can provide for myself and my needs. It was like finally coming to accept and to see that I am a full grown adult.

I had a lot of fun also. It was great to have J visit me in Los Angeles. After listening to my stories for years, he got to experience it first hand and he got to meet my friends… and some celebrities. He finally understood what it is that makes me love LA so much.

I also decided that Los Angeles is my final resting place. I intend to grow roots here and to eventually buy myself a house. I am steadily making lasting relationships and learning the importance of treating yourself to new experiences.

A lot of things happened behind the curtain that I never wrote about publicly. Perhaps someday some of those things will come out to the public light as a positive experience.

A huge heartfelt thank you goes out to all of you that supported me this year and kept me company through this long, winding journey. I am here for you and hope you will reach out and keep in touch.

Thank you! Safe celebrations!

My friend Tina Constantine aka Lady Nocturne is a Graphic Designer living in Puerto Rico. On her spare time she dreamed up a Zodiac editorial series which I want to share with you. I love how sexy some of these can be while still being classy. Great work! I have some amazingly talented friends!

Aries Taurus Gemini Cancer   Leo  Virgo Libra Scorpio Sagittarius

I see some impressive sequencing in this spread. Close progressions and clutters from suits that point to progress and obstacles impressively. Pointers such as these strengthen my faith in my work.

I have decided to complete one year of horoscopes devoted to each zodiac sign. I offer personalized Annual Review readings at my Samhain Moon Etsy shop. It is a very popular reading on this blog and in my work life, and now I am offering all 12 signs of the zodiac their own loose horoscope calendar to refer to.

December. The Emperor.
Things look a little stiff with the start of this horoscope. I am drawing from it the need to pull from inner strength to fortify your actions. It is most important that you settle grounds of respect and authority depending on which area of your life it is in. Try not to be too unyielding or inflexible, as that could slow down your progress in the future.

♡ January. Judgment.
A call to action, to put an end to the inactivity that may be causing you lots of stress. Seek to fill your life with intent and with purpose, as it is important when you consider future plans. You don't like to be stuck; you prefer to grow alongside your loved ones. It is important for you to feel like you are shaping your future into a productive one. Because you will it so.

February. King of Coins.
Strength turns into abundance. Here we see the rewards of backing up our projections with commitment. When things are in bloom, we reap the rewards of our labor and bask in it. It is the promise of something good coming because we willed it so.

March. The Empress.
Your life is in bloom. Take advantage of this! Enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. Come to think of it, this may be a time to make your living space more cozy. Seek to make your environment into an inspiring space to work in. Look to share your visions with other that share them also.

♡ April. Two of Wands.
You may be switching priorities or giving yourself some time to weigh differences in two ventures you want to take. Consider how to divide your time between your personal projects and work. It is important that you do!

May. Temperance.
This month builds upon the one before it in smooth transition. I am picking up on this being a time to balance out your feelings and your psyche. Look to cut the wine with water, figuratively to discipline and moderate your life according to your needs and what you most benefit from. Seek to find a balance that works for you so that you may nurture yourself.

June. Ace of Swords.
Take up a newfound strength: Look to establish clarity of thoughts and interest in cultivating the psyche. Strengthen your thoughts and perspectives of the world around you. Proceed with honor towards those end products.

July. Queen of Swords. This month builds upon the last as well. There is beauty in embracing personal space and personal expression. A sharp mind is the best weapon, although, one you settle respect you barely have to resort to that. Sharp words can paralyze opponents; you should just know when to employ them.

♡ August. Ace of Cups.
A new gift comes into your life. Accept it with grace. Allow yourself to be happy with all the new opportunities coming into your life. This month bears promise.

♡ September. Five of Swords.
Almost a total shadow of the month prior, this month bears conflicts and misunderstandings. Sometimes people have agendas that contradict our own, and we need to know when to stand up for ourselves. We can't tolerate having anybody take advantage of us.

October. Nine of Wands.
With all the strength you have been putting out, you may be feeling a little worn out. Try to pull the strength back out, though, so you can give yourself time off to rest after your tasks are finished. At this point, all you have left to give is a little push.

November. The World.
You did it! This is a culmination of all of your efforts. Celebrate all of your achievements during the year. Know that what you have done has been a product of hard work and dedication. You deserve to be where you have worked yourself to be. Enjoy it!

Clarifier. Queen of Cups.
This year it is very important that you listen to your intuition and that you reflect on your limits. Try not to overexert yourself, it would not be fair to you. Instead, try to focus on doing the things that make you happy and that make you feel most wholesome. Nurture your spirit.
I hope you will enjoy!

Imagine life after falling down the rabbit hole: You can’t really tell if what you see is truly there, but in spirit of the mindset you are in, you have to just go with it. It feels like you are losing time, going outside of time and into space. This is where you come when you meditate to find answers. The deck I am reviewing today is the Oliver Hibert Tarot that is being published by Von Zos.

I have never owned a deck like this before.

Laying out a spread is an experience full of energy. There is lots of implied motion in this deck, and as such it is a wonderful tool for meditation. Do a lengthy breathing exercise and envision the borders of the card disappearing, then immerse yourself into it. Interact with the characters therein, experience your own story and have an adventure. I think you will really like getting lost in the cosmic depths of this tarot deck.

The illustration quality of this deck feels nostalgic in style and in psychedelic nature. Whatever your background, you can find a way to connect to this deck. The colors come alive for you, perhaps more than you'd expect, and the surreal figures will delight you… or startle an unsuspecting client. No reading will go without commentary and impression. That’s for sure!

The vibe of this deck is fun but it is also very adult. As somebody who is comfortable using the tarot as a tool, I find that it will bring new things to the table. It clearly follows the Rider-Waite Smith tradition, but it has added elements that give it a total makeover. Oliver Hibert has breathed psychedelic life into this deck of cards. This is what I imagine life looks like after you ingest sarpa salpa fish. While I personally won’t be boxing this deck into acid trip status, no doubt that will appeal to users in the psychedelic community. I would actually think this could be a worthwhile tool to meditate into during an ayahuasca trance, though. All circumstances permitting…

The deck comes with a book and a custom tuck box. The cards are standard size and much thinner than I expected them to be. They are the perfect width! Stacked up they seem to be no more than an inch. There is a faint linen texture on the card stock and they shuffle and fan out perfectly. I love the weight of the card stock, the brightness of the colors and the quality of the illustrations. This is honestly a perfect tarot set.

Picking out my favorites from the deck was really difficult for me because they are all really very incredible works. There are no cards I disagree with in execution. These would look amazing as large framed posters in my living room!

When I read with these cards, I find that the colors actually point out symbols for my intuition to focus on. Depending on the question you are tending to, you will find that color theory applies to the reading and further strengthens the message about real items you use in your life or feelings towards habits. For example, I had a reading in which the Ace of Cups meant alcoholic drinks. As in, when you drink it makes you feel loose. I saw it in the colors, and it made me smile.

Now that I’ve spent more time with them, I have noticed that the repetition of elements (eyeballs, stars, skulls, mushrooms…) and the limited color palette makes it really easy to pull patterns and weave narratives from these cards. They come alive visually when laid out next to one another. I’m impressed at the achievements this tarot deck has made with only a few days of working use. Reading with them is a delight!

These cards are made to leave lasting impressions. I can’t wait to take them to events! My querents are no doubt going to be in for a surprise. Without further ado, let's ask the cards what they think.

What is your most important characteristic?
Justice. I see and know everything, but I am fair. Sometimes I will act with aggression, and yet sometimes I will show mercy. It is not at all personal, but the facts are the facts and we lay them down as they are. You see pretty colors, but this is a serious tarot deck and you should of course take it as one.

What are your strengths as a tarot deck?
King of Wands. I like to inspire as well. The task of fortune telling embodies many personalities, and traits of those personalities have traits that either clash or harmonize. I sport my colors with pride, a nod towards tradition but also the sign that I can take what already existed before and make it my own. You can see the same old system in a fresh, new way.

What are your limits?
Page of Wands. I am new, and in many ways still getting to know myself. This journey is one of passion, and at least that I do not go without. I am a tool for sight and a tool for inspiring creativity, but the source of creativity is actually in the reader. They will have to learn to read the colors and the magic based off how far they can stretch their own limits.

What are you here to teach me?
Queen of Wands. I am here to teach you how to harness your creativity and listen to your intuition. Feel the way the colors and the energy radiate through you, simultaneously resonating with life and forming a very organic web that is you. In time you come to recognize the energies as feelings and divine sense of knowing, from experience and from intuition.

How can I best learn to collaborate with you?
Temperance. When you work with these cards, mix them all together in the layout. Draw associations form color, direction and from elements present throughout various cards. Look for patterns or movement from one card to another to draw your conclusions. Keep a steady eye as you imagine the borders disappear and these cosmic terrains coming together. Keep it all in one place and you'll notice there is a message in the madness, conjured only for you.

What is the potential outcome of our working relationship?
Six of Cups. The relationship with the cards will feel familiar. It will be like seeing an old friend after many years, and finding out they got a makeover. A really, really wild makeover. In essence, all that you love about your friend is there... but now there are fun added elements that make the experience more current and the relationship one of rediscovery. Be open to new experiences with this deck.

Which card do you want to show off?
Ace of Swords. A symbol of strength and of self assurance. This card comes out as pride, or being proud of a most tedious achievement in breathing life into a new project. The sweat drops on the hand make me smile because it shows hard labor put into the project, as well as a sense of: Here I am. These cards were conceptualized to perfection, and now they have a life of their own.

How do you see me?
Judgement. The one who calls others to action. The one that points out what needs to change, what is working in any given situation and what will remain.

When I saw that giant mouth with teeth in the cosmos, I laughed. That's pretty intense and it says a lot...

How do you see yourself?
Nine of Cups. I feel good. I have a lot to offer to those who will listen; stories will be woven coming from the past and soon to influence the future. I come with beauty, surrealism and shock value to offer some of the most insightful days you will have to date with your cards. I am a wish come true for all those of you who had the need to be met. Now you can count on me to fill your life with color and magic.

Pre-orders are now open at Von Zos. They will be shipping out by February 2016, though, so please keep that in mind when ordering. A worthwhile investment for the serious collector of tarot cards. This deck will make a wonderful gift for a tarot enthusiast or art lover. The illustrations would look wonderful in all kinds of merchandise, but I want to thank Oliver Hibert for the wonderful and necessary contribution to the tarot community.

We needed this deck! Thank you so much!! And thank you Von Zos for making this deck available.

Edit: My deck is not up for sale.

Ever since I was very little, I felt a compulsion to fill white spaces with color and feeling. My Granmother got me my first coloring book and encouraged me to practice tracing as well as use of color. I went to college for Graphic + Interactive Communication, but took courses in Illustration. It was very hard for me to choose my major, because I wanted to work on the computer, but I also had a very strong passion for a hands-on approach to sketchbooks and color pencils, or acrylics.

Being approached by Susan of Everyday Icons was a treat! It had been years since I designed candles. I found her concept endearing and very relevant, because intention is what fuels candles best. Her candles are powerful, but they’re also jolly. I resonated with that. Even though I wasn't hired to do a total rebrand, I was hired to illustrate the candle. I did add some personal touches also to her already established visual system.

Strangely enough, a bout a week or so before Susan wrote to me, I had started gravitating towards religious iconography and illustrations. There was an “Icons” label in my “Inspiration” folder that had over 20 illustrations saved. I was delighted to hear from her, collaborations are always a treat. I love working with people!

Whenever I approach a project now, I give myself time to research the subject and make lists after the first client meeting. I follow up with making collage mood boards on the computer of the style and color values that are likely to be worked with. When inspiration hits, I play ambient music and allow myself to become an open channel of creativity. After 3-5 sketches have been completed, I take a break and come back to it the next day. When those are done, they are sent out. At times they are re-worked until they fit the client’s needs. Most of the time, when I work for myself, I have a very good idea of where the project will go. Sometimes, projects end up evolving as they are being worked on, and the end result is a surprise. The creative process is very organic, and merits patience in order to reach desired outcomes.

The way I approach all my projects is by reminding myself I want to breathe life into an idea. I like my work to be whimsical but still serious, and I believe the most important part of it is to make people smile. After that, the work takes a life of its own.

Working on the candle was a very meditative process for me. I envisioned the personification of a digital dynamic as a holy entity and set out to draw portraits that were evocative of the feeling I channeled. I was happy with all three concepts I presented the client, and would have been equally happy had any of the other concepts been chosen instead.

Getting back into vectoring illustrations was very therapeutic for me. The candle didn’t take very long to illustrate. The whole process was finished in under a month. Magic!

I absolutely loved working with Susan, who is every bit as lovely and lighthearted as the products in her company. I strongly recommend you check out Everyday Icons! They make wonderful gifts indeed!

I have to be honest with you, I absolutely love the design of this candle. It is simple, but it gets the message across and it is definitely a good example of my work as an Illustrator. Every time I catch glimpses of my candle in my bedroom and in my living room, it makes me smile. I gave the third of the candles away to my Mom. she loves it.

Should you be interested in a price check or an exchange of ideas, please contact me. I am open to creative projects in design branding, logo work and illustration. And I love working with clients to bring their ideas into manifestation!!!

Stop by the Everyday Icons shop for holiday gifts and personal treats. There is great variety there and I endorse their products! You can buy the candle I designed here.

These cards arrive pleasantly packaged in their own custom pouch. When you pull the drawstring bag open, you find the logo of the deck in logotype or in the face of a court jester. It's a great touch!

To my understanding, early orders were able to get a super special personalized Kipper Card deck with their initials or name monogrammed in the back. I've never heard of artists taking the trouble to do that with their individually crafted decks... this makes each deck truly one of a kind! Now that's cool!

The style of the deck is quite beautiful and is set in Victorian England. Notice the clothes and the backdrops to the people in the story.

Even though it is my first introduction to Kipper cards, the system is very easy to read intuitively. One could venture to treat interpretations similarly to Lenormand. This deck comes with its own PDF of instructions, which shares the journey the artist Ciro Marchetti went through to create it. We are also delighted with an interview featuring a seasoned Kipper Card reader, Fortune Buchholtz.

Ciro Marchetti is very transparent about his work. He is also pleasantly humorous and I can appreciate his humor. Just yesterday was his birthday. Happy birthday, Ciro!!

My first experience with this deck was rather ominous. My dear friend Von Betelgeuse came to me with concerns that her Grandmother was having over visions concerning world events. Since I was contemplating the possibility, I reached out for the Fin de Siecle Oracle and shuffled it for the very first time. I held my concentration and then let the cards fall on the table was they liked. It was more of a confirmation than anything. I sent this photo to my friend and we discussed the possibilities.

I always test my decks when I first start reading with them to see how they make me feel. This deck made a good impression because of how little bonding time I needed with it to get a precise reading on the situation. I like it! I also think it is quite beautiful.

What is your most important characteristic?
I like to bring people together, whether it is in your line of work or in the Querents you service. The goal is to have everyone meet their needs. This is the start of a new relationship, and all relationships take time and effort to be nurtured and brought to the level you want them to be at.

What are your strengths as a kipper deck?
I further strengthen your bond to the divine and your promise to yourself. When you allow yourself to be romanced by the way the cards speak to one another, you draw connections from the cards into your life. Together we are much stronger.

What are your limits?
Main Female.
You decide where a lot of this goes. You can’t just be told everything. The person that is reading is as in charge of their responsibilities as the Querent is. There is no escape for having to shoulder your responsibilities.

What are you here to teach me?
I love this. I bring you the gift of sight and of understanding yourself with the use of secret arcane wisdom. You will be giving this same gift of understanding to others as well.

I come as a gift whose secrets you unravel in time. You are going to learn to use your own gifts with more precision and care.

How can I best learn to collaborate with you?
Bad Health.
It is most important that you watch your physical, mental and spiritual health as you interact with this deck. You will also be nurturing others and helping them along their way. You come and assess the issue and then you provide clear solutions.

What is the potential outcome of our working relationship?
Fairness and balance are what you will take from this relationship. You are to balance your mind so that you may also help balance others. Many times you will be faced with difficult decisions, but you will have to think carefully before you deliberate.

Which card do you want to show off?
Arduous work feels like a prison for some, yet for others it is freedom. Make sure you employ your skills to the use of others who are in need. It’s your responsibility as psychic to provide solace where others cannot find it.

How do you see me?
You strive to bring people together. You’ve done so every since you were a child. When you are gone, you will have inspired somebody else to do the same. As they will inspire somebody else to do the same. That’s the cycle of legacy.

How do you see yourself?
Coffin. It’s a secret.
